Can We Just Admit We Don’t Want to Homeschool?

We don't Really Want To Homeschool, We Must

I have been working through my life planning project, and there is one thing I cannot hide from myself any longer. I don’t want to homeschool my kids, but here’s the rub – I must.

I know there are a percentage of teacher mom’s out there, that are born for this – but I am not one of them. I also know about the inside of public school education and will not be subjecting my kids to the laboratory that is our US public education system.

Now what?

First…”when you think you can’t, you must.” This is my favorite quote from the Tony Robbins, the Breakthrough Series.  This series is about how people from many stages of life, overcome their fears, and break through to the other side. It is also an eye opener, for me as someone who has much to be thankful for and gifts to honor.

The world economy is changing, the world of work is changing, education is spinning in a tornado of layers of administrators, bureaucracy, and social welfare needs, and none of it will change education for the better.

I believe that our new system needs to support those that need it, and for those of us that don’t, we need to find another way. Homeschooling is a term that is too narrow for my needs

So what to do, if you like me, want to have a career, disposable income, and a life? You need to rethink what life as a family looks like today. It is not about saving money, it is about preserving a future for you and your family.

We all need to earn a living to really live life, and direct the education of the next generation. How you do that is up to you.
